The Power of Connection Photo Contests begin on the 1st of a given month at 12:00 AM Central Standard Time and end on the last day of that month at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (i.e. the December photo contest begins on December 1 at 12:00 AM CST and ends on December 31 at 11:59 PM CST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that he or she is 18 years old or older and is the parent/guardian or has the permission of the parent/guardian of any person recognizable in the photo who younger than 18.
The photo contest is open to anyone who is 18 years old or older. Individuals who are affiliated with The Power of Connection or the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health are not eligible for any prize. The Power of Connection will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion.
Entered photos should match the photo contest theme.
Photos taken at any date by any photographer in any location are eligible. If a photo was taken by a professional photographer, please tag or otherwise cite the photographer when entering the photo.
By submitting an entry, each contestant states that he or she is the parent/guardian or has the permission of the parent/guardian of any person recognizable in the photo who younger than 18.
Edited and/or cropped photos are acceptable
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must be prepared to provide a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian, to The Power of Connection upon request.
If the entrant is unable to provide all required releases, The Power of Connection in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify the submission, seek to secure the required releases, or permit the submission to remain in the contest.
Photos must be taken in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by The Power of Connection in its sole discretion, are ineligible for all categories of this contest.
Entrants must be prepared to disclose the circumstances under which an image was captured as well as any instructions given to the child/children.
The welfare of the child/children must be placed ahead of the desire to capture a photograph. Upon entering the contest, entrants certify that subjects were treated with respect and dignity, and that no people of any age or animals were harmed in creating a photograph.
Please submit photographs by posting the photographs in the comments of the post containing the photo contest announcement on The Power of Connection Facebook page Each entrant may submit up to 15 photographs per contest. Please submit photographs in the highest resolution possible. You must post each photo as a separate comment.
Entrants may submit their photo via email and The Power of Connection will post the photo in the comments of the photo announcement post.
WInners must be prepared to submit an original, unedited digital file in the highest resolution possible.
The Power of Connestion may collect a photograph’s metadata upon entry.
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant The Power of Connection (and those authorized by the The Power of Connection) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of The Power of Connection and its website, and social media. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Power of Connection will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Participation in the contest requires the visibility of your Facebook account or collection of your name and email address. By entering this contest, you are consenting to the use of your Facebook account or name and email address for further communications regarding this contest.

Photo entries will be judged based upon how many ‘likes’, ‘loves’ or other reactions a comment containing the photo receives. The photo with the most reactions wins the contest.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for the top three photos (those receiving the most reactions).
In the event of a tie, The Power of Connection will choose the winner at their sole discretion.
Photo entries should judged based on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the theme and overall impact.
Winners will be notified by The Power of Connection within seven days of the contest ending.
The Power of Connection will notify winners via Facebook Messenger or the contact information provided at the time of entry; The Power of Connection may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within seven business days.
Prizes will be awarded, based upon prize availability and geographical location of the winner. Prizes may be chosen by winners from a pool of prizes. First place gets first choice of prize
Entrants may win only one prize per contest and no more than six prizes in a calendar year
The Power of Connection may select photos for highlight on its website or social media presence. Such selections will be made in The Power of Connection’s sole discretion.
All entrants hold The Power of Connection and the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Metal Health respective directors, officers, employees, interns, and volunteers (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with entrant’s participation in the contest and acceptance or use of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred because of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Power of Connection reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, The Power of Connection reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion. The Power of Connection reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Decisions of The Power of Connection are final and binding.
