Champion Trees Emmy Story Time with Steve and Micah Phoenix Park

Steve & Micah, the creative duo who created The Power of Connection video series, were featured in this article for their Midwest Emmy success, including a nomination for The Power of Connection.

In conjunction with the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health, they crafted a series of videos titled “The Power of Connection,” which offer guidance and support to parents of young children. This project earned an Emmy nomination of its own, and it helped Micah find the treasure all artists seek: the opportunity to turn a passion into a career.

Eau Claire ABC affiliate WQOW interviewed The Power of Connection videographer Micah Davis about the project’s Midwest Emmy nomination.

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - A video series by two Eau Claire residents that highlights the importance of healthy and positive relationships between parents and their young children is nominated for an Emmy. The Power of Connection is a video series for the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health. The series by Micah Davis and Steve Betchkal was filmed in Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee, and St. Croix Falls and aims to provide practical ways for parents to connect with their infant children.

We want to emphasize that all feelings are okay. We don’t have to have happy kids all the time. We want to help fathers feel accepting if their boys are scared, crying or sad, and we want to support moms who may struggle when their daughters are angry or persistent. The site gives guidance, advice and inspiration through videos, testimonials, tools and more.
